What we can help with.
Home watch starts with scheduled visits. The rest is the practical stuff that comes up when you own a Tahoe home from somewhere else.
Most of it is pretty ordinary. Until you’re not here to handle it.
“I’m back in the Bay Area. Can somebody please go over there and see what’s going on?”
“We’re arriving Friday. Can you make sure the cleaners finished and stock a few things for us?”
“The refrigerator delivery is Tuesday between 11 and 3. Can you be there?”
“The power was out last night. Is the house okay?”
“The plumber says it’s fixed. Can somebody get me a picture?”
They’re different requests. What they have in common is that they’re hard to handle from somewhere else.
Scheduled visits and a clear report.
While you’re away, we make regular visits at the frequency we’ve agreed on, note visible conditions, take clear photos, and send a straightforward report after every visit.
Routine home-watch visits are visual observations. They do not include entering attics or crawlspaces, opening walls, invasive testing, or diagnosing hidden conditions.
When something happens, you have someone here.
If the power goes out, storm damage appears, a leak becomes visible, or you simply need someone to see what is happening, we can go over, document what we find, and call you.
Sometimes the next step is simple enough for us to handle ourselves. When a qualified trade is needed, we can coordinate access and follow-up. If the plumber says the work is finished, we can photograph the result so you can see it for yourself.
Vendors bill you directly; we do not hold or pass through repair funds.
Ready when you get here. Closed down when you leave.
Tell us when you’re coming. If you’ve arranged for house cleaners, we can confirm they’ve finished and send you a quick photo. We can stock groceries and household basics from a list you provide, bring in packages, or handle another straightforward task before you arrive.
After you leave, we can make a documented close-down visit and take care of reasonable loose ends you’ve left for us.
The list changes with the season.
We keep track of the recurring needs that apply to your home. Some we can handle ourselves; others call for the people who already service the property or a qualified specialist.
In winter that might mean checking access after a storm, bringing something inside before weather arrives, or following up on snow removal and heating service. In warmer months it might mean raking ordinary yard debris, moving or setting out seasonal items, making a dump run, or coordinating landscaping, irrigation, tree work, or defensible-space work.
The stuff that is easy when you’re here.
Not everything that comes up at a second home requires another company. Sometimes pine needles need raking. A few things need to go to the dump or donation center. Something bulky needs to be picked up, moved, or hauled away. A delivery needs someone there. Packages need to come inside.
We have a truck, we already know the property, and sometimes the simplest answer is for us to just take care of it.
We can also provide authorized access, meet a provider when requested, and document the visit. If a job requires a qualified trade, specialized equipment, diagnosis, or repair work beyond what we should reasonably be doing, we bring in the right person.
The other things that need looking after.
If your Tahoe place includes a boat, personal watercraft or vehicle, we can coordinate the seasonal and service work through qualified providers.
For boats, that can include winterization, storage, spring commissioning and launch. For vehicles, detailing, tires, service appointments, transport, and other requested care.
We don’t perform marine or automotive work, operate client boats, or drive client vehicles.
Knowing where the line is matters.
We are not plumbers, electricians, roofers, HVAC technicians, arborists, marine mechanics, house cleaners, or a general repair contractor.
That doesn’t mean we call somebody else for every little thing. We are happy to handle reasonable everyday jobs around the property ourselves.
When something requires a qualified trade, specialized equipment, diagnosis, or repair work beyond what we should reasonably be doing, we bring in the right person. The vendor bills you directly.
Knowing the difference is part of the service.
Tell us about the home and what you need help with.
We read every message ourselves. You’ll hear back from one of us, not a call center.
